A Bit About Aztec West

History

Officially opened by Margaret Thatcher in December 1989, Aztec West business park in South Gloucestershire is home to more than 100 companies and over 6,000 workers. The name of the park is believed to have derived from the slogan 'A to Z of Technology' and it first began as a science park in the early 1980s before becoming a business park midway through the decade. Many of its buildings are in the postmodern style and were designed by acclaimed architects, including Sir Nicholas Grimshaw who is known for his work on the Eden Project in Cornwall. Some of its buildings have been listed to give them protection and prevent any changes from being made without prior permission from the local planning authority.
