HR Dept came to us on a recommendation when we were looking at taking on external HR support. We ha grown over time, to a staff of 47, and this has meant we had more HR matters arising: from areas such as maternity/paternity to interpersonal dynamics, performance and staff development needs, including people taking on roles as new line managers for the first time. We realised that we weren't going to be able to build a safe supportive culture without some help.
The support has been holistic - from giving advice and supporting the learning of new line managers, to helping navigate complex grievances, disciplinary matters and staff offboarding. Also helping to provide general advice and guidance regarding HR matters and helping us to ensure that we act in line with our values and the law.
We've strengthened the team and managed change effectively in order to minimise disruption. We've also built the confidence of the line managers to respond early to issues arising so that communication and culture is not eroded over time due to lack of confidence to act.
